  • New sea products for the industry and the market

Sustainable production of halophytes (Salicornia ramosissima)

The Salicornia production methodologies in greenhouse conditions at Riasearch were optimized to maximize yields while reducing resources used, increasing sustainability, whether in standalone production units or in IMTA systems. Additionally, Riasearch provided fresh biomass for the development of new marketable Salicornia based food products.

  • Innovative solutions and efficient technologies for aquaculture

Datamining for Aquaculture Production Analysis

Aquaculture operations generate a large number of variables and data. Data science methodologies can support informed decision making, and nowadays there are several tools that can be used, to improve decisions and knowledge about seafood production. In the context of the project, the application of data analytic methodologies was carried out by RIASEARCH in an oyster nursery, a seaweed farm and a bream and bass farm, all located in Portugal.
